about

In 1998 I bought an old Ricoh digital camera. This site is the by-product of that life changing purchase.

I was heavily involved with the electronic music scene in Los Angeles, especially around the endeavors of Bruno Guez, Jason Bentley and Kavi Ohri. They had just launched BossaNova, a fantastic club that they brewed into a sweaty cauldron of love every Thursday night at Pink in Santa Monica. Over the next few years, a tightly knit community grew out of BossaNova’s efforts as the boys played host to some of Electronic Music’s most prolific and influential DJ’s. BossaNova enjoyed a grassroots success based on the contributions of many, and my main role was to provide images.

So year after year, I found myself inside a growing community that now extended overseas to spain, with yearly visits to Miami for WMC and to the desert for Coachella. The photos of artists on this site are a reminder of some of those fantastic shows: Zero 7, Underworld, Kruder and Drofmeister, Ben Watt, Jazzanova, Groove Armada, The Orb, Røyksopp, Koop, Gus Gus, Fat Boy Slim, Beta Band, Bjork, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tosca, Basement Jaxx, Radiohead, Kraftwerk, etc…

In retrospect, I think saamthing was inadvertently one of the first photoblogs on the web, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors in its active periods between 1999 and 2003!!
